Beyond Perfection: Protecting the Pristine Exterior of a Custom-Built 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe
The 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe features a beautiful blend of form and function.
Thanks to its iconic design and historical significance, this vintage gem is still a sought-after collector’s item for many. And when custom-built to perfection, this ride becomes a hallmark of automotive design.
Recently, this meticulously crafted masterpiece was dropped to us for a diligent care and protection session. The car we were entrusted with was indeed a vintage beauty, upgraded with a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette chassis and a powerful LS Engine. With a hefty price tag, this ride called for comprehensive automotive excellence.
The owner wanted to safeguard the impeccable paintwork, expressing concerns about potential rock chips that may damage the front end. They also worried about the risk of paint damage when closing the uniquely handle-less doors and the possibility of unsightly scratches on the sleek rocker panels upon entry. As a premier auto protection company, we hopped on a mission to provide a tailored solution — maintaining the pristine exterior of this custom-built classic while ensuring it withstands the test of time.

Paint Polishing and Protection Film
We began by curating a tailored care plan for the Chevrolet Master Deluxe. Our goal was to implement protective measures that safeguard the vehicle’s exterior while preserving its aesthetic appeal. To achieve this, we started by machine polishing the car’s exterior to perfection. This works to remove minor scratches and swirls.
Then, we went the extra mile to address the client’s concerns by applying STEK DynoShield Paint Protection Film (PPF). Also known as Clear Bra, this transparent and durable shield helps defend the intricate paintwork of your vehicle. We strategically applied DynoShield to key areas, including the Hood, Fenders, Upper Doors, and Rocker Panels. The result? An invisible yet robust defense against rock chips, scratches, chemical stains, and the detrimental effects of UV rays.

Wheel Treatment and Coating
We took precision to a new level by removing the wheels, polishing them, and applying Gyeon Q2 Rim Ceramic Coating to both the wheels and calipers. This meticulous process serves a dual purpose for the consumer: protection and ease of cleaning.
Ceramic coatings act as an unyielding barrier, fending off the harmful effects of UV rays, oxidation, and chemical stains. By investing in this intensive wheel treatment, we ensured that the Deluxe’s wheels were shielded against fading and oxidation. It helped preserve their aesthetic appeal for an extended period.

Comprehensive Ceramic Coating
To fortify the paint and glass of the custom-built 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe, we applied a rigorous ceramic coating process. All of the windows were treated with Gyeon Q2 View. The Paintreceived GYEON MOHS Ceramic Coating. The result? Enhanced water repellency for improved visibility and effortless cleaning!
Prior to the ceramic coating application, our experts at Med City Detail conducted a thorough inspection and correction of the vehicle’s paint. We executed a detailed decontamination and correction phase using our advanced DOI Meter. This step ensures the elimination of as many defects as possible from the paintwork.

Final Thoughts
We ensured this prized possession, costing over multiple six figures, received a personalized care plan. After a 58-hour thorough treatment, this ride was finally able to withstand all the environmental challenges with ease. In essence, the surprising transformation of the 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe at Med City Detail is a reflection of our commitment to automotive excellence.
From detailed ceramic coatings to the application of paint protection film, every step was tailored to preserve the intricate paintwork of this vintage beauty.
